Hats First, Hoodies Next: Our New Long Sleeves and Hoodies Are Here

We started As-Built Redline with hats on purpose. A hat is the one piece of gear a guy picks for himself, wears from the first walk of the morning to the last tailgate conversation, and keeps long after the brim's shot. That hasn't changed. Hats are still what we do best.

But anybody who's stood at a trailer at 6 a.m. in November knows the hat can't do all the work by itself. So we kept hearing the same thing: Y'all ought to make a hoodie.

So we did. Four of them, actually, plus two long sleeves. That's six new pieces.

Why it took us a while

We didn't want to throw a logo on a blank and call it a day. Every design on this line is Beth's own art: realistic, engraved-style machines, drawn the way the equipment actually looks, and written the way people on site actually talk. We matched each one to a blank that makes sense for the work, from a light long sleeve for cool mornings up to a 10 oz heavyweight hoodie for the days the truck heater never really catches up.

The long sleeves

You'll find both in Long Sleeves.

Swing Radius Long Sleeve, $36.99. Every operator has had somebody stroll up behind the machine like it's a park bench. The back says it for you: "If you can read this, you're in my swing radius. Stay clear." Beth's engraved excavator sits inside a swing-arc dome, with our wordmark on the chest. It comes in safety green or safety orange, sizes S to 3XL. To be clear, it's a regular long sleeve tee in a safety color. It's jobsite humor, not safety gear.

Weekend Forecast Long Sleeve, $34.99. Weekend forecast: digging. 100% chance of dirt. It's safety green, with the excavator art on the back and our AR logo on the chest. It goes great with the Weekend Forecast mug if you're putting together a gift. Sizes run S to 2XL. For 3XL, grab the Swing Radius.

The hoodies

Heavy Civil Embroidered Hoodie, $49.99. This one's close to home. We build water treatment plants, and heavy civil is the work most people drive past without ever thinking about. The hoodie says it in two words, HEAVY CIVIL, embroidered on the left chest in white and red thread. There's no back print and no extra noise. It matches our Heavy Civil Redline Embroidered Trucker Hat, and the two together make a gift that looks like you put some thought into it. It comes in Military Green, Black or Charcoal.

Rough Grade Crew Heavyweight Hoodie, $54.99. Life happens below subgrade. Before anybody pours a slab or lays asphalt, somebody has to push it rough and get it close. This one's for them. It's our heaviest hoodie, with a 10 oz cotton face and Beth's dozer-and-mountain emblem on the back. It comes in Storm, Black or Heather Grey. The Heather Grey gets the art in dark ink. If you want to give somebody something decent this year, start here. Put it with the Seat Time Clear Mind Dozer Foam Trucker and you've got the whole outfit.

Full Throttle Dirtwork Hoodie, $44.99. For the dozer hands and dirt crews who live in the cut and fill. The Full Throttle Dirtwork dozer emblem is on the back in cream and gold, with our full-color AR logo on the chest. It comes in Black, Charcoal, Military Green or Sand. The Sand gets dark ink and is for anybody who'd rather not wear black every day. (Fair warning, Sand shows the dirt. That's how you know it's been to work.) Swing Radius Safety Orange Hoodie, $44.99. It's the same warning in a warmer package, for the months when a long sleeve isn't cutting it. Put it with the Equipment Operator Excavator Flag Visor Trucker and he's set from the cab to the tailgate.

A few honest notes

• Everything is made to order. We print each piece when you order it, so it takes a few extra days to get to you.
• Order by Thursday, Dec 10 for Christmas. Don't wait on this one.
• Shipping is figured at checkout. Some items ship from different print partners, so the cost depends on what's in your cart.
• Black Friday is for hats, and not quite all of them. The Leather Patch hat sits it out, and so do the new long sleeves and hoodies. If you're picking up a hoodie, it's a good week to grab the hat that goes with it.
